A minivan hit a roadside mine in Sangin district, killing 14 civilians, including women and children.
A roadside mine killed more fourteen Afghan civilians and injured four others on Thursday in southern province of Helmand, officials said."Now we know that 14 people, all civilians, including women and children, were martyred and four others, all men, were injured," Daud Ahmadi, a provincial spokesman told AFP, raising an earlier death toll of 10.
"A minivan hit a roadside mine in Sangin district this morning,” Ahmadi said earlier.
"The civilians were travelling from Gereshk to Sangin district when their vehicle hit the mine."
"The bomb was planted by the Taliban," he added.
President Hamid Karzai "strongly condemned" the attack in Helmand province which killed 14 civilians, his office said.
