Head of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas assured Monday that Gaza had the right to defend itself from Israel’s constant attacks, indicating that the Zionist enemy is using the Gaza Strip as a "testing ground for a possible military strike on Iran”.

In an interview with the Turkish Anatolia news agency, Khaled Mashaal said that “the only purpose of these rockets is to defend ourselves. Israel is attacking us and naturally our brothers in Gaza are exercising their right to self-defense.”

“Israel is pursuing state terrorism in Gaza,” he added, pointing out that “Israel is warming up the region for a possible war against Iran.”

During an unannounced visit to Turkey, Mashaal met on Friday with Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
