In the statement he delivered from Mashhad city on Tuesday, Imam Khamenei warned that the Islamic Republic would respond similarly to any attack by the United States or Israel.

He reassured: “We have constantly said that we don't have a nuclear weapon and we will not produce one, but we will respond in a similar way to any attack by the United States or the Zionist regime.”

“Iran has a sacred right to respond if it was attacked,” his eminence said, indicating that “the Holy Quran states that the invaders are the losers”.

“We are not considering any attacks or violations, but we are devoted to the existence and the identity of the Islamic Republic,” he added.

Imam Khamenei assured that “the Americans would be mistaken if they imagine that with their threats, they could force the Islamic Republic to retreat or fall. This is a great mistake that they will pay a big price for,” considering that the problem for the West and Israel “is not the nuclear issue or human rights,” but the rule of the Islamic Republic that stood “like a lion before the enemies”.

Furthermore, the supreme leader pointed out that “they (the West) falsify the news that come from Iran… but they failed to deny the elections, which was an honest and transparent platform that revealed the people’s will.”

“They want this country to be under the rule of a government that they control,” his eminence stressed.
