“Americans under the false slogans of defending freedom try to dominate Syria, Lebanon, Iran and all countries and we should be vigilant and strong against their plots,”
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday that the arrogant powers are using the pretext of human rights and freedom to strike Syria and the resistance movements in order to save the Zionist entity.
During a meeting in Tehran with Syrian President Special Envoy Fayssal Mikdad, Ahmadinejad acknowledged that the Syrian Government has in the course of recent events been facing armed rebellion and that the Syrian events have been a conspiracy by the western governments.
“Americans under the false slogans of defending freedom try to dominate Syria, Lebanon, Iran and all countries and we should be vigilant and strong against their plots,” Ahmadinejad said.
The Iranian president criticized the Arab League’s approach towards Syria.
President Ahmadinejad pointed to the demand of Arab League from Syria to observe democracy in its territory, while no election has been held in many of their own states and the law and human rights are serving special group atop, IRNA news agency said.
Ahmadinejad described as ‘ridiculous’ the demand of certain countries from Syria to observe democracy and grant unlimited liberty to the citizens, saying the demand means that under those conditions no one can protest against or act against the terrorist person or groups killing the Syrian people and security forces indiscriminately.
“In fact, they want Syria to offer its land to them instantly. Today, those groups set policies in the region who were being easily ignored by westerners if they had no oil or wealth,” said the president.
President Ahmadinejad attacked US President Barack Obama saying that since the beginning it was predicted that the election of Obama as the US president was a deception, aiming to cover up the US policies. “He is in fact present in a scene, behind which there are Zionists actually.”
He hailed Syria’s resistance against the Zionist entity and against the will of some Gulf Arab states as the reason why these states started opposing Damascus.
“I am very happy to see Syria officials manage affairs well, relying on their self-confidence and people and I hope conditions will be in Syria's favor more and more,” Ahmadinejad said.
President Ahmadinejad indicated that the Islamic Republic of Iran considers no limit for expansion of relations with Syria and would spare no efforts to support Damascus.
