Information officer at the Iranian embassy in Syria confirmed reports on the release of five Iranians who have been kidnapped by armed groups in the restive Syrian city of Homs.
In a phone interview with al-Manar Website, said the media official said the five Iranians were handed over to Turkish sides, without specifying the identity of this side or the party that turned them over.
Thus, the official confirmed the news reported on English-speaking Iranian television "Press TV" and Fars news agency.
The Iranian embassy in Damascus announced on December 21, 2011 that five Iranian electrical engineers working in a power plant in the city of Homs, were kidnapped by an unknown group.
