An Afghan Policeman killed on Friday nine of his colleagues and then joined the ranks of Taliban.
The attack took place Thursday in Yahyakhil district in the eastern province of Paktika the provincial governor's spokesman, Mokhlis Afghan, said Friday.
He told Agence France Press that one member of the local police had fled and two others had been arrested.
For its part, Taliban movement claimed responsibility for the attack, saying that the policeman escaped and joined its ranks.
Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a text message: "Last night, a mujahid fighter attacked a security check post. As a result, he killed nine puppet local policemen.
"The mujahid fighter has managed to escape and joined the Taliban ranks."
