Erdogan Dubs Visit to Iran Important, Productive

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan pointed out that his talks with Iranian officials were important and productive.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan pointed out that his talks with Iranian officials were important and productive, adding that his visit was an opportunity for exchanging views on the economic, industrial, as well as the regional and international developments, Iranian news agency IRNA reported Friday.

In a press conference he held as soon as he arrived to Ankara, Erdogan said that his visit to Iran was a response to an invitation by Iran’s First Vise President Mohammad Reza Rahimi, and assured that any regional crisis would have an effect on the entire region, specifically on Turkey and Iran.

The Turkish prime minister added that “Turkey has announced its will to cooperate with Iran and to exchange views with it in order to achieve stability, security and regional development.”

Erdogan stated that he discussed the Iranian nuclear issue with Iranian officials, and assured that his country will make great efforts to end all the problems around it.

He also dubbed his meeting with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic Imam Ali Khamenei important pointing out that his eminence has assured that the two countries must make joint efforts to solve the Syrian crisis.
