President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad assured Thursday that his country “will not retreat an iota from its nuclear rights”, Iranian News Agency IRNA reported.
Speaking before crowds in the southern town of Minab just days before the nuclear talks take off, Ahmadinejad addressed the Western powers saying: “Know that the Iranian people stand firm on their legitimate rights and will not retreat an iota even under the harshest pressures."
“On behalf of the Iranian nation, I advise the arrogant powers and the enemies to change their methods in dealing with the Iranian people, and to know that the Iranians will not retreat in defending their rights,” he added.
The Iranian president further stated that “some opportunists, egoists, and devilish parts are taking control over the spots of power and wealth in the world, and are seeking to take advantage of the people’s wealth rather than offering an honest service to them.”
IRNA quoted him as saying: “I will present in the future a list of promises that the enemies have broken, so that the world knows that the deceptive democracy claimers break their promises.”
