Iran, IAEA Talks to be Resumed Mid-May

Iran’s Permanent representative in the International Atomic Energy Agency Ali Asghar Soltanieh told IRNA Friday that a new round of talks between the Islamic Republic and the agency will take place in Vienna on 13-14 May.

Iran’s Permanent representative in the International Atomic Energy Agency Ali Asghar Soltanieh told IRNA Friday that a new round of talks between the Islamic Republic and the agency will take place in Vienna on 13-14 May.

Soltanieh highlighted that “the decision proves once again Tehran’s determination to cooperate with the agency, and that claims against Iran are baseless.”

The IAEA confirmed Saturday the resumption of the nuclear talks with Iran in mid-May, as the agency’s Spokeswoman Gill Tudor told AFP that “the purpose is to continue the negotiations that started early this year.”

Separate talks between Iran and the P5+1 group, comprising the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany, were revived this month in Istanbul and are to go to an important new round in Baghdad on May 23.
