Eight people were killed on Monday and over 50 others were wounded including civilians and law enforcements forces in two terrorist attacks that hit Hanano Square and Carlton Street in Idlib, Syrian News Agency SANA reported.

In parallel, an armed terrorist group targeted Sunday night the Syrian Central Bank in Damascus, causing severe structural damage.

“An armed terrorist group staged an RPG attack on the Central Bank of Syria in Sabaa Bahrat Square in Damascus," the Syrian television reported, adding that “only material damage was caused.”

It pointed out that “three armed men in a vehicle carried out the attack at around 1:00 am and escaped immediately,” and considered that the “assault was a clear breach of UN-Arab League Envoy Kofi Annan’s peace plan.”

Moreover, the television stated that “an armed terrorist group also carried out a second RPG attack on a police patrol in front of a hospital in the Damascus area of Rukn Al-Din, wounding four policemen.”

On another hand, a group called Al-Nosra (aid) Front claimed responsibility of the suicide attack that hit Damascus on Friday killing 11 people and wounding 28 others.

The group said in a statement it published on “Islam Pride” website, which is usually used by Al-Qaeda, that the attack was not near a mosque but close to a gathering of Syrian security forces.

Moreover, the statement indicated that “Abu Omar Shami” carried out the operation, adding that he blew himself up after being sure that over 150 members of the security forces were at the location.

Al-Nosra front had previously adopted a similar deadly attack that hit Damascus in March killing 27 people and wounding 140 others.
