“Holding of the Third Persian Gulf Conference in Abu Moussa Island made an opportunity for introducing the Island at the national and international levels”, Seyyed Abutaleb Mousavi said during meeting with the local and provincial officials.

Local officials attended the second day of the ceremony in Abu Moussa Island to celebrate the National Iranian Day of Persian Gulf.
The third biennial international conference on the Persian Gulf opened at two Iranian universities in Tehran and Hormozgan Provinces on Sunday. The conference focused on the environmental concerns and Iran's ownership rights to the Persian Gulf.
Abu Musa is a 12.8 sq km island, part of Hormozgan province of Iran. Located in the eastern Persian Gulf, it is part of a six-island archipelago near the entrance to the Strait of Hormoz.
