An armed group in Syria assassinated on Wednesday the son of the Leader of the opposition party, Syrian Social Nationalist Party, in Homs.
The armed group opened fire from machineguns on Ismael Haidar, the son of Ali Haidar, along with his comrade Fadi Atawneh on the al-Mahnaya junction on the road between Homs and Masyaf, State news agency, SANA, reported.
Commenting on the assassination of his son, the leader of Syrian Social Nationalist Party said he didn’t need condolences because the blood of Ismael and his comrade “is no more precious than the blood of any Syrian that was martyred before or will be martyred in the coming days”.
"Those who carry guns will not terrorize us and will not silence us nor stop is from working day and night to establish peace and security in Syria”, SANA quoted Ali Haidar as saying.
Attacks by armed groups have been likely in these days, with the militants have been targeting Syrian troops as well as civilians in more than attack.
On Wednesday, twenty two Syrian troops were killed in more than attack carried by armed groups.
Last Friday at least nine people, including civilians, were killed as the armed groups carried a bomb attack in the city of Idlib.
