Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei cast his ballot on Friday in the parliament (majlis) run-off elections calling on Iranian people to take these elections seriously.
“The more votes are cast, the more courageous, capable and authoritative would the deputies be,” said Ayatollah Khamenei after casting his vote assuring that the second round was as serious as the first round.
Sayyed Ali prayed for people's success in fulfilling their duty and the big and grave task on the elections day thanking the officials in charge of organizing the elections.
The runoff elections are being held in 33 constituencies across the country with 130 candidates from different political factions competing for the remaining 65 seats of the 290-member legislative body.
The first round of the elections was held on March 2 with around 67 percent of some 48 million eligible voters taking part in the event.
