Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi visited “Iran” public park in the Southern village of Maroun Al-Ras on Thursday where he hailed the Islamic Resistance, its martyrs, and the mujahedeen’s “blessed efforts” that liberated the land.
The “Iran” public park is located on the Lebanese borders with occupied Palestine and overlooks wide areas in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Rahimi and the delegation that accompanied him were received by public crowds, as well as Hezbollah officials, a delegation of Palestinian factions, and a number of clerics and mayors.
Loyalty to the Resistance Parliamentary Bloc MP Hasan Fadlallah delivered a statement during the reception, greeting the Iranian guests, and expressing gratitude for the Islamic Republic’s constant aid and assistance to Lebanon, especially after the July 2006 war.
For his part, Rahimi pointed out that “the resistance’s wise and courageous leadership proved to the world that it is stronger than the Zionist entity and its destructive weapons.”
“Hezbollah urged Israel to submissively withdraw… and we consider that Hezbollah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah has become a model for all the free, honorable, and resisting people in the world,” he added.
On the Syrian level, the Iranian official stated that “Iran supports the Syrian people’s rightful and legitimate demands and the political reforms there… it also supports Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad’s course of reforms.”
“The majority of the Syrian people support the leadership and the Syrian president, but the arrogant powers are relying on terrorist, armed sides to stir up tension in that country,” Rahimi indicated.
Later Thursday, the Iranian vice president concluded his visit in a message before reporters in Beirut, in which he reassured the importance of expanding cooperation between Lebanon and Iran on various levels.
“The high joint cooperation committee of the two countries has agreed on transferring the Iranian natural gas to Lebanon through Iraq and Syria,” Press TV quoted Rahimi as saying.
