Iranian Energy Ministry official said on Sunday that Iran will start exporting electricity to Syria and Lebanon in the near future.
Abdolhamid Frazam Behboodi added that Iran is fully ready to export electricity to Lebanon as of next week, according to Iranian state agency IRNA.
Supplying power to Lebanon was among the issues on which the two countries agreed few months ago, said the official.
The export of electricity to Syria and Lebanon will be carried out within two phases, he said, adding that 50MW of electricity will be exported in the first phase and the second phase will include export of up to 200 MW.
