Hezbollah’s International Relations official Ammar Moussawi described Russia's position towards Syria a “historic” one and that it would restore balance on the international level.
 
Moussawi, during a dinner in honor of Russian ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin in Tyre, South of Lebanon, praised the Russia’s policies that supports the Arabs rights and which contributed to stability in the region.

For his part, the Russian ambassador stressed the need to exert all efforts to combat terrorist acts in Syria, including an end to the funding and arming of terrorist groups, calling on all parties who consider themselves internationally responsible to exert efforts for the success of Kofi Annan’s mission and plan.
