Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has urged the six major world powers to toughen up Iran during the upcoming round of negotiations between the Islamic Republic and the P5+1.
Speaking at a civil service commission event in al-Quds (Jerusalem) on Monday evening, Netanyahu said, “The world's leading countries must show determination, not weakness” and take a tougher stance on Iran, Press TV reported.
“They do not need to make concessions to Iran. They need to set clear and unequivocal demands before it. Iran must halt all enrichment of nuclear material,” he said.
Netanyahu’s remarks came only after Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Yukiya Amano said he held “comprehensive” talks with Iran's top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili in a “good atmosphere.”
“During the meeting (with Jalili), we discussed a wide spectrum of different issues, including nuclear disarmament, peaceful use of nuclear energy and strengthening [the position of] the agency,” Amano told reporters.
Earlier in the day, the UN nuclear agency chief held talks with Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Fereydoun Abbasi.
