Lebanese Army shots a man after he refused to stop at checkpoint
A Lebanese man called Charbel Rahme was killed on Sunday by troops’ gunfire after he refused to stop at an army checkpoint at al-Madfoun Bridge in the North, media reports said.
Rahme, 38, who hails from the northern town of Bcharri, died immediately as a gunshot struck his head, National News Agency said.
His body was transported to the Batroun Hospital and the military police arrived to the scene and started investigations, the agency added.
Media reports said Rahme refused to have his car searched and fled the checkpoint.
