Turkish envoy says Ankara hasn’t stopped its mediations in the case of the abductees and was doing its best to facilitate their release.

Official contacts were underway away from the media in the case of the kidnapped Lebanese in Syria, at the time there wasn’t any information that the abductees were fine within Syrian territory, but in an area under the control of the ‘opposition’ and the supervision of the Turks.

Turkish ambassador to Lebanon Inan Auzildise on Tuesday held meetings with Prime Minister Najib Miqati and then with the head of the Loyalty to the Resistance MP Mohammad Raad over the case of the Lebanese abductee who were kidnapped in Syria’s Aleppo last week.

Following the meeting, the Turkish envoy said Ankara hasn’t stopped its mediations in the case of the abductees and was doing its best to facilitate their release.

In the same context, Iranian ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi said his country was pursuing in efforts to release the kidnapped Lebanese as soon as possible. Abadi's position came during his visit to Miqati at the Grand Serail in which he delivered a written message from the Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi. Both sides emphasized on the importance of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
