Lebanese army units conducted over the past few days a number of training exercises with a specialized American team, said the army in a statement on Saturday.

The exercises are part of the ongoing cooperation between the Lebanese and U.S. armies, it said.

The exercises involved Lebanese airborne units along with land and naval commandos, as well as the anti-terrorism and espionage branches.

Training included airborne operations and exercises with live ammunition.
