Iranian acting Foreign Minister along with his Syrian counterpart stressed boosting strategic ties and supported a Lebanese solution for the country, ISNA news agency reported.Ali Akbar Salehi from Syria highlighted with Walid Muallem Damascus's special status in the region and urged boosting Tehran-Damascus relations.

Regarding recent developments in Lebanon and Iraq, Salehi expressed satisfaction over formation of a comprehensive government in Iraq and its improved security condition.
He expressed disappointment over freeze of Syrian-Saudi Arabian agreements on Lebanon's stability, but stressed regional cooperation to help stability, security and welfare in the region.

For his part, Muallem called Tehran-Damascus relations "strategic" and expressed satisfaction over growing bilateral ties.
He also said attempts to halt Syrian-Saudi plan seeks disturbing calm and stability in Lebanon.
