He made the remarks in a meeting with Visiting Secretary General of Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Mahir Tahir, where the two officials exchanged views on regional developments.
Jalili said the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the Palestinian resistance movement to liberate Palestinian territories from the Zionist occupation.
He added that the Islamic Republic does not withhold any support for the nations campaign to achieve freedom and independence round the globe.
“Palestine belongs to the Muslim World,” Jalili stressed.
He said that the Islamic Awakening movements are gaining momentum in the region and the international community must uphold issues such as freedom and defending the legitimate right of Palestinians as well.
“Unity among Palestinian groups is of prime importance,” Jalili said adding that victories have roots in resistance.
Referring to Iran’s progress in peaceful nuclear program, he said enrichment of 20 percent uranium for over one million cancer patients to produce radioisotopes have roots in the resistance of Iranians to illogical stands of the west.
The Palestinian envoy, for his part, expressed the hope that Islamic Awakening movements of the Arab nations would lead to liberation of Palestine.
He called for help to lift siege on Gaza and assistance to Gaza people and release the Palestinians languishing in jails of Zionist regime.
The Palestinian official highlighted the significant role of Syria in backing Palestinian resistance, and said that enemies of Palestinians -- U.S. and the Zionist regime have hatched plots against Syria.
