Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman said Tuesday the European Union unilateral sanctions against Iran will not have any constructive impact on bilateral relations and the nuclear talks.
Addressing the continued EU pressure on Iran and its effect on the expert meetings for nuclear talks underway in Istanbul, Ramin Mehmanparast said the acceptable results will be achieved only through cooperation and positive approaches.
“Surely, the unilateral sanctions against Iran will not help the nuclear talks between Tehran and the Group 5+1- the US, Britain, France, China and Russia plus Germany,” he added.
On the recent escalation between Turkey and Syria over downing of Turkish jet fighter by Syrian anti-aircraft batteries, Mehmanparast said Iran is trying to mediate between them due to the current critical situation in the region.
He also stated that Iran is concerned about any measure to foment regional instability.
