An Al-Manar television reporter was attacked by Lebanese army intelligence members in the Kesrouan town of Zouq Mosbeh Thursday evening.
“I was on assignment in Zouq Mosbeh along with my crew when I was beaten and insulted by members in civilian garb who turned out to be associated with the army intelligence,” Dia' Abu Taam said.
According to Al-Manar TV, the attackers said the site of the beating was a security zone.
Al-Manar added that when it contacted Army Intelligence Director Brigadier General Edmond Fadel, the latter said the army intelligence members “committed a violation and were not on an official mission.”
He also promised to arrest and penalize the members who attacked Abu Taam.
