Syrian President Bashar Assad issued on Monday three laws on combating terrorism.

State news agency, SANA, said Assad “enacted a law on demobilization of those who were proved to be charged, by a court verdict, with committing terrorist acts, joining terrorist groups, instigating and providing any moral or material assistance for the armed terrorist group.

The agency added that the president has also “issued law provides for sentencing to 10-20 years in prison with hard labor and a fine whoever kidnaps a person by force or deception with the aim of ransom.

The laws considered financing terrorism as “any direct or indirect supplying with money, weapons, ammunition, explosives, telecommunication tools, information or other things with the aim of using them in carrying out a terrorist act by one person or a terrorist organization.”

The Syrian People assembly had ratified on Thursday the project of the laws.
