Hezbollah condemned Monday the series of heinous crimes and bombings that targeted several Iraqi cities during the past few hours and led to the martyrdom and injury of hundreds of citizens.

“While condemning these continuing horrible crimes, Hezbollah hopes that leaderships in Iraq will work to strengthen national unity and exercise self-restraint in order to ward off strife and raise awareness to reduce the Takfiri ideas that only serve the enemies of the nation (Ummah),” Hezbollah said in a statement.

Hezbollah indicated in the statement that these “criminal bombings, which reflected the bloody practices of some armed groups, served the desires of the nation’s enemies by terrorizing citizens, killing innocent people and spreading sectarian strife and the destruction of state institutions.”

The statement accused “foreign intelligence agencies” of pushing armed groups into committing the massacres in Iraq and prevent the country’s recovery after the withdrawal of the U.S. occupation.
