Hezbollah condemned the terrible massacres targeting innocent Muslims in the Asian State of Myanmar.

In a statement it issued on Monday, Hezbollah called for “a broader campaign of solidarity with them,” and called upon “international institutions that claim adherence to human rights and lives to assume their responsibility in protecting these people, and defending them from murder and persecution.”

It also stressed that the killing machine of the regime in Myanmar (Southeast Asia) is making every effort to “target Muslims in several regions, especially in Arakan where children and women are being killed and families are being displaced and thrown out of the country.”

“What is serious is that these horrible crimes are happening under the cover from the head of the ruling regime which put the Muslims between two choices: Either expulsion from the country or gathering them in refugee camps,” Hezbollah added.

In the statement, Hezbollah indicated that the new wave of ethnic cleansing of Muslims in that country was launched in concurrence with the improvement in relations between the regime there and the United States, something that raises questions about the price that Washington got to cover the continuous crimes of this regime against the Muslims in Myanmar.

Reports say scores of Rohingya Muslims were killed and around 2,000 others were missing and displaced during clashes in the country. The United Nations say Rohingyas are deprived of basic rights including education, employment, land rights, public services and are subject to forced labor, extortion and other coercive measures.

The regime in Myanmar refuses to recognize Rohingyas, who it claims are not natives, and classifies them as ‘illegal migrants’.
