Hezbollah Executive Council Deputy Chairman Sheikh Nabil Qaouq said Sunday that Lebanon’s Western-backed March 14 alliance was “obstructing” the Lebanese army’s mission to control the northern borders.

Hezbollah Executive Council Deputy Chairman Sheikh Nabil Qaouq said Sunday that Lebanon’s Western-backed March 14 alliance was “obstructing” the Lebanese army’s mission to control the northern borders, local Now Lebanon news website reported.

Qaouq commented on the situation in Syria, saying: “The militant operations launched on a daily basis from Lebanese lands to Syria seek to exhaust the Syrian army and drag it into carrying out operations inside Lebanese territories; thus deepening the Syrian crisis and increasing pressure on it.”

He added that the act of “participating in the attack on Syria is being made with the support of the March 14 forces.”

Saying that he supported “the Syrian people’s legitimate rights,” Sheikh Qaouq noted that what was happening in Syria was “a global war administered by America and funded by Arabs.”

Qaouq also said that the March 14 coalition will not be able to force Hezbollah to disarm.

“The steady mountain of Resistance, which was not moved by (Zionist) rockets and raids, will not be shaken by statements or provocations (referring to pro-West March 14 party).”
