"I proposed, and Dr (Saeed) Jalili, (Iran’s main nuclear negotiator) agreed, that we talk again after further reflection at the end of the month," Ashton said in a statement, adding that  the contact with Jalili was during phone talks.

She did not say if these would be face-to-face talks or more phone contact, but underlined: "I impressed the need for Iran now to address the issues we have raised in order to build confidence."
Ashton said she had "explored diplomatic ways to resolve international concerns about Iran's nuclear program."

Ashton has been working on behalf of Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States.

The Islamic Republic confirms that its nuclear program is for peaceful uses, unlike the Zionist entity which is thought to be the major nuclear power in the Middle East.
