Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili has demanded a "clear response to ideas put forward by Tehran" in the nuclear negotiations with the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany (P5+1), state-run media outlets reported Friday.
In a telephone conversation with EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton on Thursday Jalili said," A clear and specific response (from the P5+1) to the Islamic Republic of Iran's sensible ideas is a logical request."
Media reports did not specify the "ideas" that have been put forward by Iran for the new round of nuclear talks but Iran has already asked the P5+1 to recognize its nuclear enrichment rights.
Ashton, for her part, said that she would confer with the P5+ 1 representatives on the issue and will announce the conclusion to Jalili within two weeks, according to the Iranian Press TV.
Last week, Iran's deputy nuclear negotiator Ali Baqeri said that the recent nuclear talks with deputy head of the EU's foreign relations in the Turkish city of Istanbul were "positive."
Baqeri met Helga Schmid, deputy to EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, on July 24 for talks to pave the way for another round of high-level international talks on Iran's nuclear program.
During Moscow talks, on June 18, the P5+1 and Iran agreed to hold expert-level meetings to find common grounds for another round of talks.
