Iran Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said that the fire which the United States has been igniting in Syria would consume the Zionist entity.

 “It seems that the United States is insisting on creating a hell” for itself and others in Syria, Larijani stated in a speech during an open session of the Majlis on Sunday.

 “The fire that you ignite in the Levant will swallow the terrified Zionists. Although the Zionists have not watched their tongues (when talking) about Hezbollah and Iran over the past few days, the Zionists’ fear is palpable in those tough words,” he said, addressing the United States and its Western allies.

“Kofi Annan’s resignation and U.S. officials’ contacts with certain politicians in the region and the military and arms support (for the Syrian rebels) meant to throw Syria into chaos is a sign of a new plan of international villains,” the speaker added. 

 Annan, the UN-Arab League joint special envoy on Syria, announced on August 3 that he would resign when his mandate expires on August 31.
 Addressing the West, Larijani also said, “What has allowed these countries to meddle in Syria? At least obey your wishy-washy Security Council. When the Security Council has not adopted any resolution, your interference in Syria is nothing but international malevolence.”    

 “When the West does not abide by the mechanisms of international rights, why should others observe them? Thus, it is normal that the flames of the turmoil (in Syria) should be worrying for the Zionists,” he added.
