Speaking on the sidelines of a cabinet session in Tehran on Wednesday, Salehi said that the aime of the meeting was to halt violence in Syria.
Our main goal is to negate violence and [promote] national dialogue in Syria and Iran is doing its best to end violence in Syria as soon as possible,” the Iranian foreign minister pointed out, according to IRNA news agency.
He said that 12-13 Asian, African and Latin American states will take part in the meeting which is scheduled to be held on Thursday.
