Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived Monday in the holy city of Medina, Saudi Arabia to attend the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) which is held in the holy Mecca on August 14-15.
Upon his arrival, President Ahmadinejad was warmly welcomed by several high-ranking Saudi officials at the Medina airport.
President Ahmadinejad is taking part in the event at the official invitation of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz.
President Ahmadinejad is accompanied by Supreme Leader's Advisor for International Affairs Ali-Akbar Velayati, President's senior advisor Mojtaba Samareh-Hashemi, Head of Presidential Office Esfandiar Rahim Mashaee, and a number of ministers.
