Media reports said that several people were injured in clashes that took place after cautious calm prevailed at dawn Tuesday.
Al-Manar correspondent reported that at least five soldiers were injured during the fight on Tuesday, as unknown militants hit their patrol with a bomb.
He added that there was a high-ranking officer among the soldiers wounded on Tuesday.
National News Agency said residents were trapped in their houses in the areas of Syria street, al-Nasseri mosque and in Mallouleh near the highway that links Tripoli to the district of Akkar.
The road remained blocked over sniper fire.
The fight between the two neighborhoods erupted on Monday afternoon, killing one person and injuring more than 15 others, NNA reported.
The army command later on Monday issued a statement, saying five soldiers were injured in the fighting only on this day.
The statement said that the army was deploying in the area, adding that the soldiers carried our raids during which they seized firearms, hand grenades and ammunition, and responded to the sources of fire.
