Sleiman urged judicial authorities to “take immediate actions” and issue arrest warrants against the captors.
“These developments will only complicate matters and efforts to release the captives,” he added.

"These incidents also tarnish Lebanon’s image and reputation," added the president.
“The recent events have been acts of defiance against the state and Lebanon’s ties with fraternal countries,” Sleiman noted.

Three months ago, 11 Lebanese pilgrims were abducted in Syria’s Aleppo by militants.
Last week, another Lebanese, Hassan Salim al-Miqdad, was also abducted by Syria militants.
Following the abduction, al-Miqdad family abducted several Syrians and a Turkish citizen in retaliation against the abduction of their son.

Another Turkish national has also been kidnapped but it was not clear who was behind his abduction.

Commenting on the recent developments and abductions in Lebanon and Hezbollah’s relation with these events, the party’s Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah stressed that after three months over the abduction of the pilgrims, the issues in Lebanon were over control of Hezbollah and Amal movement.
