Hezbollah saluted on Thursday the dean of the Syrian Prisoners, Sedqi al-Maqet who was released a day earlier following 27 years in the Israeli jails.
In a statement released by Hezbollah’s Media Relations, the party described al-Maqet as a hero who resisted against the Zionist entity.
“Another hero has been released. He is the Syrian Sedqi Suleiman al-Maqet, whose determination has not been shaken by long years of detention and torture, so he remained free and honored despite the cuffs,” the statement said.
Hezbollah praised al-Maqet, saying he has been stuck to the choice of resistance, despite the lack in abilities.
“His opinion, will and stance remained free despite years of torture in the Israeli jails.”
“And today, our hero is reminding the Arab and Islamic nation of the real enemy which is endangering its existence. He has offered us a lesson over the way to regain dignity, retake our land and liberating Palestine, through resisting Zionists,” the statement added.
“As Hezbollah salutes this resistor… it urges all to overcome conflicts and sedition and to unite in order to fight the real enemy of the nation and to regain our dignity and land,” the party said further in the statement.
