Al-Manar correspondent reported that the fight in north Lebanon re-erupted, noting that the army was responding to the sources of the fire.
National news agency said that Shiekh Khaled al-Baradei, 28, was killed by fire of snipers at dawn on Friday, adding that rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) and rocket fire was used during the fight.
The Sheikh’s death brought to more than 12 the number of the fatalities from the clashes that erupted on Monday, and more than 100 wounded.
Al-Manar correspondent also said reported that some masked gunmen were roaming Tripoli’s streets, setting fire to a number of stores.
Several families displaced by the fighting had returned to the districts on Thursday afternoon to inspect the damage to their homes, as the truce had appeared to take hold.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Najib Miqati headed a security meeting in his residence in Tripoli, urging the army to restore cal in the city.
