Two Palestinians have been killed and several others injured after Israeli forces struck different targets in the Gaza Strip.

The incidents took place early Saturday in Gaza, and medics said that five Palestinians were wounded during the Israeli air strike. Israeli jets targeted neighborhood of Zeitoun, on Gaza City's outskirts.

In the meantime, dozens of olive trees were uprooted and confiscated by Jewish settlers in the area of Beit Dajan in the east of Nablus city to facilitate Israeli movements around settlements.

Israel used to cut down trees planted by Palestinians without logical reasons mentioned leaving great damage with civilians’ properties.

Cities of the West Bank have experienced frequent attacks and vandalism especially after the recent murder of five settlers in Itamar settlement.

Meanwhile, Israeli F-16's threw leaflets on Thursday warning Palestinians and telling the agricultural communities to stay away from their land, which lies within 300 meters of the border.

The UN estimates that some 30% of Gaza's arable land lies within the no-go zone. And as such, many farmers here have no choice but to risk life and limb for the sake of their livelihoods. As a result, they are often shot at by Israeli snipers and many of them are killed.

UNESCO
Palestinian activists have called on UNESCO to prevent Israel from building a settlement on an ancient Palestinian village called Lifta.

The activists said on Friday that the village -- known for its vibrant, creative, and artistic people and located just one kilometer northwest of al-Quds (Jerusalem) -- must be preserved for its important world heritage and cultural value.

In their opposition to settlement construction and in an effort to reclaim their land, Palestinians along with international supporters, gathered here on Friday to say that the occupation will not go unchallenged.

The activists said Israel should not be allowed to continue justifying its annexation practices and denial of Palestinian rights in order to build luxury apartments exclusively for the settlers.

In a remarkable move, Palestinians have filed a number of petitions, including one with the office of the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization -- UNESCO -- in Paris and called on the organization to designate the site as a genuine Palestinian Heritage site.
