Head of the Biotechnology Development Council Abbass Sahebghadam Lotfi said on Monday that Iran ranks first in West Asia and 14th in entire world in terms of science generation, state-run news agency IRNA reported.
Lotfi told IRNA on the sidelines of the 3rd National Seminar on Agricultural Biotechnology that about 50 percent of Iran’s scientific products are in the field of agriculture.
He said the Council goals are developing production and commercialization, removing domestic needs, fighting sanctions, raising exports and winning proper share in regional and international markets.
