Another US soldier has died by wounds sustained from a bomb blast in southern Iraq, the US military said.

"A US service member was killed Sunday by wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device while conducting convoy operations in southern Iraq," AFP quoted a Monday military statement as saying.

The Sunday death brings to 4,441 the number of US occupation soldiers killed in the war-torn country since the 2003 US-led invasion.
