Two Palestinians were martyred and another was seriously injured when an Israeli airstrike targeted their car late on Wednesday.
The strike hit the car in the town of Rafah on the territory's southern border with Egypt.
The emergency services identified the dead as Ashraf Saleh and Anis Abu Elenein.
The Islamic Resistance movement, Hamas, said in a statement the martyrs “were carrying out a routine mission of monitoring and securing the southern border between Gaza and Egypt.”
For its part, the occupation military confirmed the attack, with a source cited by the enemy’s public radio said the strike targeted “terrorists” of Hamas who “were preparing to carry out an attack against” the Zionist entity.
