The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that the Mojahadin-e-Khalq Organization is an accomplice in assassinating the Iranian nuclear scientists, Iranian Mehr news agency reported Monday.
He stated that the MEK has never renounced “terrorist activities” and it has only changed its approach.
Mehmanparast’s remarks came as the U.S. State Department formally removed the MEK from its list of terrorist organizations on Friday.
“Their last terrorist moves, in which they were involved, were the assassination of our nuclear scientists with the cooperation of the Zionist regime’s security agents,” Mehmanparast told the Al-Alam news network in a program aired on Sunday night.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Saturday stating that delisting MEK was “a violation of America’s legal and international obligations” which could in turn threaten the U.S. interests.
The decision “will bring U.S. responsibility for past, present and future terrorist operations by this group,” the statement also said.
