Syrian news agecy SANA further reported that "Assad later received Al-Dandah and provided him with his directives, wishing him success in his duties."
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Al-Moallem attended the swearing-in ceremony.
Former Syrian Ambassador to Iraq Nawaf Fares has left the government a couple of months ago as the crisis in Syria was aggravating.
