At least six people have been killed and several others injured after a suicide bomber attacked the office of a local peace committee in Buner town, northwest Pakistan.
The bomber struck as Fateh Khan, whose committee opposes extremist militants, left a petrol station in the city of Buner 150 kilometres northeast of Peshawar, the capital of the north western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
According to a police official, an unidentified militant drove his explosive laden motorbike into the outer wall of the leader's office.
Khan, his two body guards, and two passersby were killed. The injured were rushed to hospital. The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack.
