The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) strongly censures the recent Zionist air strikes against the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip, urging the UN Security Council to adopt a swift action to put an end to the ongoing violence.
“The Non-Aligned Movement strongly condemns the recent military actions against the Palestinian people and believes that the Israeli regime’s aggression and its resort to bullying against defenseless people requires the immediate attention of the international community,” NAM said in a statement which was unanimously approved on Thursday.
It also urged the UN Security Council, as the body responsible for maintaining international peace and security, to adopt an immediate measure to stop the Israeli attacks on the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The statement added that fresh Israeli air strikes on Gaza have killed and wounded many Palestinians, including women and children.
“The use of military force against the Palestinian people with the purpose of intimidation has deteriorated the situation in other parts of the occupied Palestinian territories such as East Al-Quds (East Jerusalem),” the NAM’s statement warned.
Over 20 people have been martyred and more than 160 others injured in the new wave of Zionist attacks which began on Wednesday.
