Stressing that any ground invasion in Gaza strip can never be considered a picnic for Israeli occupation soldiers, the head of Hamas’ political bureau, Khaled Meshaal, said that only Tel Aviv can end the ongoing offensive.
“Ground invasion in Gaza is not a picnic. It would cost (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu,” Meshaal said during a press conference in Cairo.
“Whoever started the war must end it.. under the resistance’s condition.”
Hamas Chief also unveiled that Netanyahu “is the one who asked for a ceasefire from Europe and US.”
“We don’t want escalation and we are not reckless like the Zionist entity’s leaders.”
Meanwhile, Meshaal said he did not want to “burden” Egypt with the sole responsibility of ending the offensive on the Gaza Strip, as he called on divisions between Palestinians in Gaza under Hamas and those in the West Bank under Fatah to end.
“I want to reassure that the Gazans’ morale is so high, and all the people there are united.”
He also said he was proud of the achievements of the resistance, saluting all the martyrs who fell during the offensive.
