Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghadanfar Roknabadi said although Iran and Hamas had some differences on Syrian issue but both sides enjoy strategic ties.

In a meeting with editorial board of the Lebanese ˈAl-Liwaaˈ newspaper, Roknabadi said that the Zionist regime had wrongly assessed Hamas as weak and tested its military power against Hamas but failed to defeat it.

Roknabadi said that Iran believes in the settlement of the Palestinian issue, their return to their own homeland, holding a free election with participation of all Palestinian Muslim, Christian and Jewish citizens. However, he added, the US and the other Western governments prefer to save the Zionist regime.
