Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt stressed in a statement to Al-Manar website that his initiative was now “in the hands of the other political parties,” refusing to give a comment or an analysis in advance.
This comes as a delegation from the PSP visited Wednesday Hezbollah and proposed a dialogue initiative to avoid political vacuum in the country.
Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem assured during the visit that the party supports dialogue without preconditions, adding that “with dialogue, we could specify the common and different points.
“With dialogue, we could also organize our differences in a way that preserves the country’s benefits, and with everyone’s cooperation,” he added.
Sheikh Qassem said that “our stance is clear, and no side could monopolize the political and pubic representation.”
