Egyptian ousted President Hosni Mubarak was transferred Wednesday evening from Tora Prison Hospital to Maadi Military Forces Hospital in Cairo, to perform CT scan, state-run news agency MENA reported.
An unnamed senior official was quoted by MENA as saying that the interior ministry's prison department approved the transfer after all legal procedures were done, due to the lack of CT scan equipment at the prison hospital.
Mubarak, who is currently facing life imprisonment for ordering killing of protesters in 2011 uprising, has recently been wounded in his head after slipping and falling down in a bathroom of the prison hospital, Xinhua news agency reported.
