The Syrian army has repelled an attack by a group of insurgents on an air base in northwestern Syria.
Syria’s official news agency SANA reported on Thursday that the militants tried to carry out an attack on the strategic Taftanaz air base in the province of Idlib.
However, the army forces “repelled the terrorists’ attempt” and inflicted heavy losses on the militants. Heavy fighting is still raging around the strategic air base.
